My husband’s brother and sister in-law threw us an amazing adoption shower this past weekend!! I am pretty sure there was a permanent smile on my face the entire time!! As they say in the adoption world…glowing, not showing!
It was great to have so many friends and family come and celebrate with us! We know that it has been all of their prayers and encouragement that has carried us through these past several years. So it was only appropriate to have it be more than just a women’s gathering and instead a family event.

My brother in-law and sister in-law did an amazing job organizing and putting it all together, especially in between the rush of the holiday’s. From food, cakes, to games and door prizes, they didn’t miss a beat. And my heart was filled with overflowing joy!!!
I find it difficult to put into words so many of the feelings and emotions that the day brought. Overcome by the love, acceptance and excitement for us, but even more so, that which was expressed for our boys. Such peace it brings to this mama’s heart knowing the amount of love our boys are coming into!
Blowing out the candles on our son’s birthday cake, who turned 5 the next day!
Yes, I did mention cakes above as in plural and many. In addition to the wonderful “Congratulations and Blessings” cake, my sister in-law made a birthday cake for our son! I was so moved by the cake, complete with candles and everyone singing him Happy Birthday!! (It’s safe to say the day didn’t go by without a couple of tears shed.)
Completely humbled and honored by the outpouring of support and love!!! Not to mention, the time and thoughtfulness put into each detail of the day to make it so incredibly special for us!!
