This past weekend our sons were baptized!! They had been counting down to this day, literally and were beyond excited for it to finally be here! I even had them make a countdown calendar so they could see how many days were left. Plus it helped to prepare them and teach them about the sacrament.
We had this day planned for months prior to any notification of bed rest or pregnancy. Aaron’s brother who is a priest stationed in France had a planned visit to the States for August and just so happened that it would work out to have him do the baptism. We were so honored to have him baptize our sons!
Even while on bed rest I still wanted to have a party for the boys. The event is once in a lifetime and too special to pass by on celebrating. So we hosted a simple lunch for 50 people.
With the incredible help of my parents and family we managed to pull it off. I am beyond grateful for their help in making everything go so smoothly as all I could do was watch from the couch. Believe me there were a few moments of panic as my list writing continually grew and there was nothing I could do to help cross items off.
The baptism was so beautiful, filled with multiple moments where my eyes filled up with tears! All my heart could do was give thanks to God!! As Father did the baptism he reminded us that as joyous as the day was when the boys became a part of our lives, this is an even greater homecoming.
I pray that our sons remember this day forever and the grace received will always be at work in their lives and hearts!

Say whaaaaaa? 50 people! That’s an accomplishment! I’m sure it was so special. Gosh , I can only imagine! To have your children’s sins wiped clean by the blood of Jesus and be welcomed fully into the family of Christ AND to surrender this child to Christ and recognize that they completely belong to Him. Anyway they look phrnno)
