Grace has been eating solids now for a few months. I wouldn't define myself as crunchy, but try my best to make healthy meals for my family and stock our fridge and pantry with nutritious choices. I knew I at least wanted to give homemade baby food a chance and I have been surprised at how easy and quick it actually can be. There were a couple of books that I used as resources 201 Organic Baby Purees and Super Baby Food. Both which have been a big help in trying to figure out what I am doing. So far I have pureed sweet potatoes, avocado, peas, green beans, apples, mango, pear, peaches, bananas, blueberries ... view the post
The Things They Say
Their wit and wisdom never grows old. I love their honesty and hearing exactly what they are thinking. Can they please stay little?! Ethan: She may be your daughter, but she is our baby. Standing next to the car. Kolbe: Mom take a picture, I look like a model. Giving me his wish list for his birthday. E: Can I please have a safety cup like daddy, so I don't get hit in the bad spot? Explaining to the boys what hiking is. K: Did you ever go hiking? Me: Yes, on our honeymoon we went hiking up some big mountains. K: I am never getting married, I don't ever want to have to go hiking! E: Mom are the ... view the post
7 Takes, Hello Weekend!
1. Adding my seven for the week and linking up with Kelly as Friday comes to a close. Quickly typing this out during one of my favorite times of the day, the boys at "recess" and Grace napping at the same time! My hour of bliss and usually the time I find myself sneaking chocolate. 2. Yay for Fall! As much as I love summer I love when the weather gets a little cooler and the wardrobe changes to jeans and a sweater. Pumpkin bread, pumpkin creamer, pumpkin candles and the list goes on. Grace is even enjoying the festive spirit eating homemade pumpkin apple spice oatmeal. 3. I am enjoying the home schooling ... view the post
School Days
Finally feeling like we are getting back into a routine with summer now being over and hoping that means I can also get back to blogging a bit more regularly. Last weekend we road tripped to visit family and arrived home with both Aaron and I waking up sick with a bad flu bug Monday. Silver lining, none of the kids got it and even though Aaron and I were both sick we were able to tag-team our way through the day, so grateful for that! We officially started the school year September 1 and this year both boys are enrolled in Everts' Fine Institution of Learning and Success, aka home school. Never did I think I ... view the post
Educating at Home and Abroad
With back to school starting and my desire to fill our shelves with books for the boys that enhance their reading, feed their minds and give answers to so many questions that I don't have the answer to I decided to host an Usborne Books party. I am not one who usually does this. In fact this may be my first party to host, but the product is too phenomenal to let it pass by. Plus, they even have books for Grace! The boys are at an age where they want to know how everything works and I am happy Usborne Books offers so many options for us moms not mechanically minded, I will be learning with them. As I watch their ... view the post
