Wishing time would slow down! My little man, who is not so little anymore, is officially six!! He has been waiting months for this. He had a great time celebrating at the park, surprise lunch with dad, his favorite meal for dinner, cake and ice cream and a movie. I even attempted making and decorating him a cake, which he absolutely loved!! I never would have thought my quiet Ethan would become a little socialite. The one talking my ear off most days and the first to make friends. He wakes up ready to solve the world's problems and has most people's word quota in by 8:00am. Amazing how much he has grown ... view the post
Number One Fans
This past weekend was the end of the baseball season for Aaron, the boys were disappointed as they were really hoping his team would make it to the championship again this year. I got a little creative and made the kiddos shirts and Gracie a dress with Aaron's number on it. The boys were so so proud to wear 23 and absolutely loved matching their dad. They would wear the shirts everyday if I let them! The boys wanting to match daddy's number is simply an outward sign of their admiration for him. They are his number one fans on and off the field. As soon as Aaron walks through the door after work the boys leap ... view the post
Our Trip to Zootopia
A multi-night vacation is not in the books for us this summer, but we have kept busy doing a lot of day-cations. This past weekend we did a day trip to the zoo, something we have been wanting to do since last summer. It was lots and lots of walking and the boys did incredibly well. Not once did they complain, instead they were always eager to see the next exhibit. I loved seeing the excitement the boys had as we arrived and their continued amazement seeing each animal. Their eyes lit up as they saw in real life the animals they have been reading about in books. It was fun for them to learn about all of the animals ... view the post
Watermelon Cooler
Watermelon is beyond a favorite in this house, I blame my husband. I was never much of a watermelon fan until marrying him and now I seem to be cutting one up weekly only to have our family devour it in a couple of days. So when I saw a recipe for a watermelon slush I knew we had to try it and it was a win. The original recipe is from Kraft and we made a few of our own adaptations. 3 cups of water 1/2 cup lime juice 2 packets of Crystal Light On The Go Lemonade 10 cups frozen seedless watermelon cubed Blend all of the ingredients together until desired consistency. Enjoy! ... view the post
Through Their Eyes
Lately the news headlines seem to have become more frightening, instilling more anxiety and stealing more hope. I admit with being a stay-at-home mom there are days when I conveniently bury my head and avoid the news all together and I leave it to Aaron to fill me in on the major stories. Before becoming mom I was up to speed on the news, part of my job as a producer was reading the headlines and staying up to date with current events. Now that I have children keeping up with the news cycle more often than not causes me to lose my focus. My mind drifts to the negative and gives way to fear. Leaving me so often ... view the post
