Over five weeks later and I am finally in the process of typing out the arrival story of our little Grace. It seems to be taking a bit longer than I anticipated, in time and in length. Seems to also be in the making of a two part story! In the meantime I thought I would share a few pictures as last week Grace already turned one month old! Since we aren't suppose to take Grace out of the house yet, because of her being a preemie born in the peak of cold and flu season, one of my friend's graciously offered to come over and do a few newborn pictures for us. (Thank you Lindsey, you are the best!!!) They turned out ... view the post
Family of Five
Since I seem to be short on time these past couple of weeks, I thought I would at least share a few pictures of what our life has looked like lately as a family of five. Eventually I will get around to writing something of substance or at least a little more lengthy than a few lines. Grace is doing amazingly well and growing, weighing in now at 5 pounds 2 ounces! She is a happy and content baby, except for when she is really hungry. After hardly being held during her time in the NICU she has taking a liking to snuggles and being in our arms and will even let out a little squawk when she is set ... view the post
She’s Home!!
After a much shorter stay in the NICU than we originally were told, our sweet little Grace came home on Sunday after just 9 days!!! Her brothers can't get enough of her and love helping out. From checking on her, singing to her and holding her they are in love with little Grace. Even though Kolbe said he should pray for a new baby because this one just poops and spits up all the time! Grace had her first doctor's appointment and weigh in on Tuesday and we are so happy with her big 3 ounce gain! Life has been joyful, exciting, busy and tiring, but thanks to an amazing husband we are slowly ... view the post
Update from the NICU
I realize I am a little sleep deprived and my mind is racing a million miles when I forget to even mention our baby girl's name in the last post announcing her arrival. In addition other signs include pumping without first attaching the bottles and completely missing my exit to the hospital until I am 5 miles past. We named our little girl Grace Marie-Ann. It is God's grace that sustained this life and brought her into the world. Marie is after Mary the Blessed Mother who we continually implored and entrusted our little girl to her care and protection. Ann is a name that has been in my family since 1722 also ... view the post
Our New Year’s Blessing!
This little miracle surprised us entering the world at 34 weeks on January 2 weighing in at 4 pounds 5 ounces! We are completely in love!!! She is currently in the NICU and praying and hoping we can bring her home soon. An hour after birth. First family photo! You have to be 18 to go into the NICU, but Grace's nurse let us sneak her to the window so her brothers could see her. Two days old! She is eating like a champ! Now we just need her to gain weight and maintain her body weight, so we can bring her home! Please continue to keep our family in prayer and so I have the energy to keep going. ... view the post
