I am finding one of the hardest things about bed rest is letting go. Letting go of the housework, laundry, dishes and meals. Letting go of doing things myself and allowing others to serve me. In the process learning how not to feel bad or like an inconvenience. One of the most difficult things for me to let go of is missing out on special moments with my sons. Aaron tries his best to accommodate when possible with the wheel chair, but there are many things where it just doesn't work. I try to fight the bitterness, tears and mom-guilt from setting in, but can't help wanting to be with them. In large part it's ... view the post
Loving Every Ounce
Going into my ultrasound yesterday I was pretty nervous. I had some cramping over the weekend and was constantly reassuring myself that baby was still moving. I had no idea what to expect and praying the placental abruption had not become worse. Baby at 15 weeks Being just about 19 weeks the baby was big enough to do the full anatomy scan. It was remarkable to see all of the organs and the tiny heart chambers. Completely in awe of our little 8 ounce miracle who was crossing its ankles and was reaching and playing with its toes during the ultrasound. The ultrasound tech even printed a picture that looked like the ... view the post
18 Weeks!
I am truly humbled by the outpouring of support and prayers! It continues to amaze me as once again I see the visible body of Christ, so incredibly beautiful! From family, friends and strangers praying for us, making us meals and volunteering to help out in whatever ways are needed. We are so blessed! Earlier this week I felt the baby move for the first time! I love feeling the little one squirm around throughout the day, what a gift. Although the movement is too early to feel from the outside, the boys put their hands on my belly and exclaimed in great excitement that they were feeling the baby move!! We finally ... view the post
Living In Hope
I hesitated posting this, because unfortunately it's really not that inspiring or uplifting. On the same hand I strive to be authentic on this space and we could really use some prayers. Last week I had another routine ultrasound. I was 17 weeks and had just hit my 6 week mark of being on bed rest. I went into the ultrasound filled with great hope and expecting to hear the news that perhaps I could be off bed rest or at least with more privileges. I was feeling great and based on the past two ultrasounds the hemorrhage was continuing to decrease in size. My doctor called shortly after I had arrived home from the ... view the post
3 Under $30
It's hard to believe that I am already 17 weeks, despite bed rest this pregnancy has been flying by. In just three more weeks we have our big 20 week ultrasound and it's still a toss up whether we will be finding out the gender...I guess it depends who you ask! My bump is pretty small and looks more like I ate too many cookies and brownies, but I am getting to the point where my normal jeans are feeling a bit too snug. Thankfully I am still able to wear non-maternity tops and sweaters. At this stage though I prefer the ones that fit a little more loose. Here are a few finds for fall, I am definitely loving the ... view the post
