I will try to break up all of my pregnancy posts, so going back a few weekends to share some photos from the boys' first race! Add to it, their first race was in historic Lambeau Field. It was such a fun event and definitely on our list to do again. Ethan loved it so much he asked if we could do it again tomorrow. Unfortunately, it only happens once a year. The run was a 1K for kids 10 and younger, basically one lap around the field. To top it off the kids were treated to free cookies and ice cream as we took our seats inside the stadium to watch a movie on the jumbotron. Although I was not able to ... view the post
Welcome to Bed Rest
Fast forward to my 10 week ultrasound...baby looked great and the hemorrhaging looked stable, even slightly smaller. The doctors concern over it was lessened. Unfortunately, the concern would come back the following week when we thought we had lost our baby. I woke up that morning in complete shock, trying not to think of the worse case scenario. So many images and memories from the past. I immediately text my doctor and called my husband on his way into work. My doctor instructed me to go in right away for an ultrasound, we were just praying we still had a heartbeat. If the baby was still living I would be ... view the post
Tiny Beats
Going back in time a bit...it was the day of our big six week ultrasound, I had been waiting for this moment since I first saw the two pink lines. I was anxious, excited, hopeful, nervous and scared. In the past, the early ultrasound is when we would find out that we would lose our baby through miscarriage. Aaron took the afternoon off so he could be in the room with me, holding my hand as we awaited the news. Laying there all I could do was pray. Praying for a heartbeat, praying for peace and most of all praying for strength to accept God's will. It all seemed surreal as the tech showed us the tiny heartbeat. ... view the post
Four + One
With the start of school right around the corner I figured a simple math problem is appropriate to get our summer brains back into thinking mode. If you ask Kolbe how many people are in our family, he will gladly tell you with a big smile on his face. Five. We have five people. This may seem a bit confusing and I promise I am not teaching them some new modern form of math. Just ask him to explain and he will point to number 5. The smallest one of all, safely tucked inside mommy's belly!! Baby Everts arriving in February!!! Artistic credit: Ethan Everts I hesitate announcing the news this soon, but the past ... view the post
6 Months In!
It seems as if they have been in our lives forever, at moments reminding myself that it has only been six months. Still I feel like the past six months have been a blink of the eye, finding it hard to believe that amount of time has already past. Over six months ago we welcomed our sons home and began our life together as a family of four. Never could I have imagined the joy and love that would enter and rest in my heart! We truly are the ones blessed to have them as our sons, to care for them and every day hear their laughter! Although I feel like we have settled into a somewhat normal routine and sleep ... view the post
