Our Memorial Day weekend was spent relaxing with family at the lake. The weather was cool and rainy almost the entire time, as in a constant drizzle most of the day. Despite the weather it didn't keep these first time fishermen away from getting their first catch. They displayed a lot more patience than I have for standing in the rain trying to catch a fish, but the wait was worth it as they each were able to reel in a couple. We also managed to sneak in a few boat rides in between the rain. It brought me so much joy to see my sons excited about something I also love to do in the summer, boating and ... view the post
7 Takes, In the Classroom of Life
1. Joining the others and adding my seven for the week. You know your kids are adjusted to the climate when they are willing to bike in 45 degrees with hats and mittens, while their mom sits in the garage with a blanket! 2. I found a great use for all of the left over jelly bean colors that I don't like and are still in our candy basket from Easter. Welcome to math class! I just had to make sure to warn my husband not to eat them, since they had plentiful use in counting and adding. Of course the boys had to sample a few of their edible math problems. 3. Speaking of learning I am a slow learner, very ... view the post
Passing It On
One of the most beautiful things about our sons are their hearts, their innocence and their love of Jesus! We are so blessed that this love was something instilled in them at a young age and now passed on to us to help nourish and mature. Before having children I always wondered how I would answer their complicated questions about God, Jesus and the faith. Wondering if I could explain it in a way that they would understand without feeling they were retaking one of my college theology classes. Let's just say I am grateful for grace and guidance from the Holy Spirit as I try to answer their inquisitive minds. ... view the post
May Showers Bring May Flowers
The last few days have been rainy, cold and windy resulting in us having to stay in the house. It makes me wonder how we ever made it through the winter months and has me already dreading next winter. I was so desperate to get out of the house that we even visited my two least favorite stores. Least is probably an understatement since I normally just stay in the car while my husband goes in. I came up with a few things to browse for and we found ourselves at Fleet Farm and Menards! The boys loved it! I have also found myself coping in a few other ways such as letting the kiddos create works of art with ... view the post
3 Under $30
I am finding that transitioning my wardrobe from working business casual to stay at home mom has become a bit more difficult as the weather warms up. On more than one occasion I have had to change clothes to run out and then change back into something which allows me to be a bit more active with the littles. That mostly means a t-shirt and jeans, because if it's sunny and above 50 we are at the park and riding bike! There have been a few things I found work well such as a go to feminine baseball cap for the days that only allow for a brush through. Comfy sandals and Mary Janes that don't have my feet aching after ... view the post
