Always ready to pose for the camera, naturals! Out of the mouth of babes comes so much honesty, humor and wit! Of course a few of my words as well as they continually pick up on new phrases. Going for a bike ride and seeing a dog barking at us. E: Don't be sassy dog! Asking Kolbe if he would perhaps like to try the bigger bike as his knees continually hit the handlebars. K: Please wait, just a second. Please be patient buddy. After finishing dinner. Me: Uh, I am full. (Kolbe proceeding to walk over and pat my stomach) K: Big belly, big belly! Encouraging my lead foot by acting as if we are ... view the post
One Year
Celebrate, throw the confetti! It is hard to believe that today marks one year since I started this little space and blogging adventure! I had been meaning to start a blog for years, but always had excuses as to why not and just never seemed to get around to it. Last year I finally put my foot down and made it part of my Lenten resolution. Now don't take that the wrong way it was not penitential to start in anyway. More so it was a resolution that I knew would better myself, require some discipline, help further healing and perhaps in some small way inspire someone else. I still feel like the blog is evolving ... view the post
Pinterest Worthy
The sink has dirty dishes, socks are waiting to be matched and there are small cars and trains in every corner of the house including my make-up drawer. Fair enough to say my house is not close to being pinterest worthy right now. Many walls are still bare after living in the house for 4 years and not much furniture has been rearranged since the initial set-up. As quickly as the hours go by and the days come and go I am realizing more and more it's okay to also let a few things go unfinished for the time being. I love things to be in order and picked up. I also know that it helps me function better when ... view the post
Beyond Us
Our first family selfie in Ghana after 5 hours at the embassy and miraculously passing the visa interview! The outpouring of love, support and prayers for our family during the years leading up to bringing our boys home is one that continues to humble me and amaze me. All I have to do is think about it and my eyes well up with tears. It truly humbles my heart and has filled me with profound gratitude. I have always believed in the power of prayer, but since going to Ghana I see just how tangible it is. For years family and friends have said they were praying for us, especially throughout the adoption process. I ... view the post
You Make Me Smile!
There isn't a day that goes by where I am not laughing out loud multiple times or beaming with smiles throughout the day! These boys have brought a new joy and love into my life, one which I never knew existed before becoming their mom. Without trying, they melt my heart and easily make my gray sky blue! This weekend we ventured out for a little spring shopping, their first time at a mall. Our mission, sunglasses and Easter ties. Mission not only accomplished, but also highly successful! I wish I had a video camera in the store as they tried on multiple pairs of sunglasses and each time stood in front of the ... view the post
