Although it's snowing and blowing outside with a lovely 5 inches of snow today, seeing multiple days of 45 in the forecast has given me spring fever!! Since welcoming the boys home I haven't had time to do my usual browsing on the web of fashion and finds, but can't resist looking at the bright colors that the near season brings! A few items to add some color to transition the grays and blacks of winter to spring. The Limited // 16.17 LOFT // 18.00 francesca's // 24.98 ... view the post
Slowing Down
Making time for and enjoying a second cup! His is tea, while I prefer the highly caffeinated kind. Apologies for my absence from the blogging world for the past two weeks. Call it cliche, but it is amazing how fast the time goes!! I find myself just trying to take it all in, catch a little sleep in between, stay ahead of the laundry and try to get into some kind of routine. It's amazing how much laundry accumulates adding two little people, not to mention the basket full of little socks to match up! I find myself being in awe daily of the perspective taken in from a child's world view. It is amazing what ... view the post
Welcome to the Midwest!
This past weekend we had the enjoyment of introducing the boys to wonderful, wintery, Wisconsin and all that it entails. The boys club Aaron volunteers with was graciously hosted to ice fishing, sledding, antler searching, great company and good food! It was the first big outing for our boys. Despite mom nerves, they did absolutely wonderful and fully enjoyed the great outdoors! Great fishermen and already telling fish tales...just ask them how big their fish was?!! Although, they were a bit taken back at seeing the fish move and flop in front of them. I must admit I showed a large amount of enthusiasm as I ... view the post
7 Takes, Welcome Back!
1. It's been awhile since I have joined the realm of the 7 takers, but back at it today with a wide assortment. I am finding that even though I am now full time stay at home mom, I still love Fridays just as much!! 2. Have to share this wonderful family picture with the Bishop at our local March for Life. Although, the following Sunday the Bishop reached out to shake my oldest son's hand at Church and he refused. Feeling a little mom embarrassment, but right now they are really shy when out in public. He made up for it and gave us a good laugh after Mass, when he mistook the Deacon's gesture of excitement and ... view the post
Venturing Out
Cabin fever?? Not yet... We have been living in hibernation mode for the past 4 weeks since returning from Ghana. Intentional hibernation to add. It is the best fit for our family right now, to help the boys transition, adjust and foster healthy attachment. It wasn't until the past week and a half that we have become a bit more adventurous. We started small, I needed to gain self-confidence that I could take them both out by myself. Not to mention the intimidation of the carseats!! Our first trip was to the gas station for the daily special of eggs and milk. All was well with no glitches on the short 15 ... view the post
