1. With fall around the corner I am looking for some new recipes to add to the collection. We are not too fussy around here, but like quick or do ahead meals as I am usually pretty hangry by the time I get home from work. Give me the dish on your fall favorites. 2. Absolutely love this saying! And for the first time I truly felt it last week as we finally started making significant progress in our adoption journey. I don't know if it was the dress I was wearing or the new feeling of an expectant mother showing through, but I received plentiful compliments. I think my colleague summed it up, "she's ... view the post
Summer’s End
Enjoying the last days of summer sun this past Labor Day weekend. Two of my faves, being with family and being on the water. Complete with boating, campfires, late nights, great food, long walks and ice cream! As always summer has again gone by so quickly. Seeming to have only started and all too soon it is over. Soon making our way into fall, a season I also love, but dreading old man winter to come especially after the long and extreme cold we had last year. As summer moves to fall and fall into winter, I am filled with hope, expectant faith and anticipation for what God has in store. Joy in seeing how ... view the post
Casting Our Net
Almost a month ago already I mentioned briefly in a post that my husband and I were really in a time of discernment. Lots of prayer and discussion, searching for answers and trying to come to a decision. Since I said I would fill you in at a later time, I thought this post could be the later time. There have been several changes in the actual adoption process itself since we started our initial home study in October of 2012 for an international adoption. Some hiccups, delays and way more waiting than I had ever anticipated or imagined. With all of that we felt like we were at a crossroads. Discouraged in not seeing ... view the post

As the seasons of life change, I am reminded that the love of family continues to grow. I had never experienced significant change in my life growing up, we always lived on the same block, in the same house, always went to the same school and had the same group of friends. When I started high school I remember feeling some anxiety over all of the changes that were going to be taking place in our family. I guess I was perfectly content with how life was. I was beginning to face the fact that our family wouldn't be the exact same again, as it had been for so many years. My older brother was leaving for college and I ... view the post
3 Under $30
Time has gotten away these last few weeks of summer with weekends filled with fun, laughter, family and friends. (I will share some of the moments in the week to come.) Driving across the state this past weekend I noticed some of the trees already starting to turn color, the nights are cooling off and fall is right around the corner. Although my uniform in elementary school included large amounts of navy, I am falling for this color as it makes it's way back into my wardrobe. Dare I say navy is the new black, add a gold necklace or a fun pop of color to change up the look. Here's a few finds as we begin the ... view the post
