I love the little things in life that give cause for pause and serve as a reminder of simple life lessons. Lesson 1: We spent Memorial Day weekend at the lake with family and enjoyed what seemed like the first taste of summer, finally hitting 80 and seeing some sun. As we made our way out the door for Mass Sunday morning, it felt like it was going to be a warm and sunny day, perfect for being on the water. My six year old nephew asked if I would go tubing with him later in the day, he had been wanting to since the day before, so I agreed. By the time we finished brunch, the clouds rolled in, the wind picked up ... view the post
Saying “I Do”
Wedding season is upon us, the flowers in bloom, the birds chirping and love is in the air. The romance and devotion as couples gaze into their beloved’s eyes, completely swept off their feet. The day they have been dreaming of finally arrives as they walk down the aisle without a care in the world. With family and friends gathered around they are united for life as they state their vows and say “I do”. 7 Takes, Ready for the Weekend!
1. Linking up with Jen and already in weekend mode! Just have to put it out there that I am really looking forward to the long weekend, sunshine and relaxation. We are headed north to spend the weekend with my family, complete with boating, campfires and a beanbag toss tourney. I will be sure to snap a few pics to share when I return. 2. The summer has commenced and I know where I will be spending a lot of my Sunday’s in the sun, on the bleacher from this view right here watching the husband play ball. For the love of the game, ... view the post
Bedecking the Deck
Without breaking the bank! I was trying to explain to my husband the concept of bringing the comfort from the inside of the house to your outdoor space, he wanted to know if I planned on moving the couch as well. I think he is starting to get the concept. I have been ooing over the large outdoor area rugs, giant colorful umbrellas and beautiful sets of outdoor furniture. Besides the great color and style, these fancy pieces can also add some flare to your checking account. So here are a few cost conscious ways and a couple of finds to add a little pizzazz to the plaza. Go bold with color, mix and match ... view the post
God Will Sort it Out
Read before hitting the panic button or at least before hitting it another time, and again… My husband and I have been in the process of an international adoption for over a year and a half. It has been an emotional roller-coaster of ups and downs, testing all the patience and yielding of control for this type A personality. Needless to say it has left me with sleepless nights wondering how this will ever turn out, the what if’s, the self-doubt and the burden of not having the solution. Too often we put so much stress and pressure on ourselves to figure out lives problems, to have all of the right answers and ... view the post
