Trying to get a photo of the kiddos is becoming much more difficult, especially with Grace no longer wanting to sit still. We spent the day with Aaron’s side of the family. The boys played outside all day with their cousins, Grace ate, smiled and scooted all over the place and enjoyed the fact that naps were not mandated.
It’s hard to put into words everything that I am grateful for. Undeserving as I am, God has poured out his abundant blessings on me. My amazing husband, two of the most wonderful boys, the miracle of our baby girl, the privilege of being a stay-at-home mom, homeschooling my sons, my husband’s job, food on our table, a roof over our heads and a closet full of warm coats, my extended family, parents, siblings and my in-laws, old friends, new friends, our Church, and the list goes on. As we asked our sons what they were each grateful for Kolbe summed it up best, “Jesus dying on the cross for me”. Amen, my sweet little boy your heart continues to reveal the higher things in life.
I was reminded at Mass this morning that no matter where we are at in life we can all find something to be grateful for. (I need to remember this on the really hard mom days!) In gratitude our hearts become more focused on others and less on ourselves, our lives become more joyful as we see the blessing in the moment instead of focusing on what could be.
I pray all of you had a very blessed and joyful Thanksgiving, filled with turkey, stuffing, more pie than your stomach can handle and all surrounded by family and loved ones. Happy Thanksgiving!
