I realize I am a little sleep deprived and my mind is racing a million miles when I forget to even mention our baby girl’s name in the last post announcing her arrival. In addition other signs include pumping without first attaching the bottles and completely missing my exit to the hospital until I am 5 miles past.
We named our little girl Grace Marie-Ann. It is God’s grace that sustained this life and brought her into the world. Marie is after Mary the Blessed Mother who we continually implored and entrusted our little girl to her care and protection. Ann is a name that has been in my family since 1722 also the name of my grandmother who prayed unceasingly for Aaron and I through our years of infertility.
I also realize I left out the details of what led up to Grace being born at 34 weeks. When all settles down I will do a birthing story post, but in short my placenta abrupted and I needed an emergency c-section.
Grace is making progress, gaining weight and maintaining her body temperature. She continues to be a great eater and has started to nurse successfully as well! If tonight and tomorrow morning go well we are looking at bringing her home tomorrow afternoon, which is a much shorter stay than we were originally told.
The past week has been exhausting trying to divide my time between being home with the boys and the other half of the day at the NICU with Grace. I tried to not let mom guilt get the best of me and just realize I can only do so much, but between Aaron and I we are there for almost all of her day time feedings. We cannot wait to have her home and I may just never set her down!!

Congratulations! I haven’t been online since before Christmas and so missed the first announcement. So happy for you that she is here and healthy.
